In vivo renal clearance, biodistribution, toxicity of gold nanoclusters.
Gold nanoparticles have shown great prospective in cancer diagnosis and therapy, but they can not be metabolized and prefer to accumulate in liver and spleen due to their large size. The gold nanoclusters with small size can penetrate kidney tissue and have promise to decrease in vivo toxicity by renal clearance. In this work, we explore the in vivo renal clearance, biodistribution, and toxicit...
متن کاملMicrowave, photo- and thermally responsive PNIPAm-gold nanoparticle microgels.
Microwave-, photo- and thermo-responsive polymer microgels that range in size from 500 to 800 microm and are swollen with water were prepared by a novel microarray technique. We used a liquid-liquid dispersion technique in a system of three immiscible liquids to prepare hybrid PNIPAm- co-AM core-shell capsules loaded with AuNPs. The spontaneous encapsulation is a result of the formation of doub...
متن کاملGold Nanoparticle Based Platforms for Circulating Cancer Marker Detection
Detection of cancer-related circulating biomarkers in body fluids has become a cutting-edge technology that has the potential to noninvasively screen cancer, diagnose cancer at early stage, monitor tumor progression, and evaluate therapy responses. Traditional molecular and cellular detection methods are either insensitive for early cancer intervention or technically costly and complicated maki...
متن کاملBiodistribution of gold nanoparticles in BBN-induced muscle-invasive bladder cancer in mice
Bladder-sparing options are being developed for muscle-invasive bladder cancer in place of radical cystectomy, including the combination of chemotherapy and radiation therapy. We reasoned that improving the radiotherapy component of chemoradiation could improve the control of locally advanced disease. Previously, we showed that gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) are potent enhancers of radiation therap...
متن کاملPlasmonic photo-current in freestanding monolayered gold nanoparticle membranes.
We report on photo-current generation in freestanding monolayered gold nanoparticle membranes excited by using a focused laser beam. The absence of a substrate leads to a 50% increase of the photo-current at the surface plasmon resonance. This current is attributed to a combination of trap state dynamics and bolometric effects in a nanocomposite medium yielding a temperature rise of 40 K.
